El primer paso siempre es pegar las miniaturas a unos palillos planos a fin de organizar el trabajo e imprimar fácilmente las miniaturas.
Para resaltar los detalles en escalas tan pequeñas uso imprimación negra y pinto después en colores claros. Es recomendable usar colores brillantes y evitar los oscuros.
The first step is always to glue the figures on to painting bases to organize the work and to prime them easily. I use black primer and then paint in bright colors to show the details on such small scales.
Las miniaturas de Heroic & Ros son bastante planas y muy fáciles de pintar y las de Baccus tienen un relieve bastante grueso que facilita su pintado.
Por otro lado, las figuras de Irregular Miniatures tienen muchos pequeños detalles, por lo que es necesario darles primero un suave pincel seco en gris para poder apreciar el detalle antes de pintar. Me encantan éstas últimas.
The Heroic & Ros miniatures are quite flat and very easy to paint and Baccus miniatures have a fairly thick relief that makes it easy to paint.
On the other hand, Irregular Miniatures figures have many small details, so it is necessary to first give them a soft dry brush in a light grey color to notice the detail before painting. I like the latter specially.
Al pintar empiezo siempre por la piel para enfocar la miniatura y darle vida, cara y manos en este caso. Añado un punto de blanco para los cuellos de las camisas.
When painting I always start with the skin to focus the miniature and give it life, face and hands in this case. I add a white dot to the collars of the shirts.
Acto seguido pinto el coleto de cuero, sombreros y partes metálicas de las armaduras y cascos. Prácticamente todas las miniaturas son pintadas con dos colores.

Seguimos adelante con los pantalones y medias, casi todos en colores neutros, grises, verdes y pardos. Aquí es donde vamos a marcar la diferencia. Los ejércitos de la guerra de los treinta años no llevaban uniformes, de modo que los soldados se reconocían usando prendas de colores distintos para cada país, por lo que podemos usar amarillo para los ejércitos imperiales, naranja para los holandeses, rojo para los españoles, azul para los franceses, etc...
Rojo es el color que lucían los tercios españoles, así que pinto las fajas de los oficiales y plumeros en rojo. Aprovecho para darle más presencia al color rojo pintando también algunos pantalones y medias. Dando predominancia a este color conseguiremos aportar un carácter más español a estos tercios.

Utilizo Vallejo earth texture para cubrir las peanas y una vez seco le doy dos pasadas de pincel seco, una amarilla y otra blanca.

Añado vegetación a la base para darle vida. Es importante usar diferentes tipos de vegetación para a conseguir este efecto. Tened en cuenta también la geografía, no es lo mismo un paisaje del norte de Europa que uno mediterraneo.
